The RIVVER Lax, our versatile all-round performance board, is the perfect choice for medium-power waves – whether in Surf Langenfeld or on smaller Citywaves, it consistently delivers impressive performance. It's also ideal for heavier, more powerful surfers and stronger waves.

At first glance, the Lax—with its classic shortboard shape—might resemble our Phoenix model. But a closer look reveals the unique features that set it apart from its predecessor.

We identified two key challenges during development:

• More powerful surfers sometimes had issues with flex, as they applied too much pressure themselves.

• On waves with less power, too much flex could reduce speed.

Our solution:

We made two essential adjustments:

• Increased board thickness to reduce flex

• Precisely fine-tuned the rocker line

These changes brought great results, but something was still missing.

Finally, we found the missing piece by slightly extending the swallow tail and integrating a double concave design in the tail area. This gives the board extra lift and speed, while maintaining its signature responsiveness.

For intermediate surfers, the Lax offers the ideal balance of stability and control to steadily improve their surfing skills.

Experienced surfers will appreciate the balanced blend of speed and control for dynamic maneuvers like spins and slides.
