The Story

Silvia is a surfer. She got badly burnt surfing in Nicaragua and spent her sessions in Ericeira worried about the boards around her. So she made the hat she wanted to wear — the first surf hat with a removable impact insert, since 2023. The Biarritz carries her name and her line: built for the impacts that actually happen in a crowded line-up, honest about what it doesn't do.

Fit & Size Guide

Measure the circumference of your head just above your ears. Size S/M fits 56–58 cm. Size M/L fits 59–61 cm. Between sizes? Size up — the elastic adjuster tightens the fit. Note: it is not a certified helmet, and does not cover the back of your head or neck.

What does the impact insert do? It absorbs board and wipe-out impacts — yours and other people's. It is not a certified helmet and does not cover the back of your head or your neck.

Does it stay on when you wipe out? Yes. The fit is adjustable, you tighten it before you paddle out, and if it ever comes off it floats.

How much sun protection does it give? The fabric is UPF 50+ and the brim shades your face for a full session.

Is it hot to wear? No. It's made to be worn wet, and the water keeps it cool through the session.

What if it does not fit? You have 14 calendar days from delivery to return, unworn and with tags, under EU consumer law.
