The Story
The Elasto line is Rip Curl's stretch-first take on the winter suit. Instead of trading flexibility for warmth, the Elasto CZ Hooded 5/4 combines thick 5/4mm neoprene with a highly elastic construction and a fully attached hood — a suit built around the idea that a cold-water session should not feel like a wrestling match in the car park.
Details
- Material: 80% Rubber (Neoprene), 20% Polyamide, with plant-based foam from natural rubber as the main material
- Thickness: 5/4mm — 5mm on the torso for core warmth, 4mm on the arms and legs for flex and paddle range
- Hood: Integrated, attached hood with drawstring adjustment to lock heat in at the head and neck
- Lining: E5 flash lining for fast drying and thermal comfort, plus E4 thermo lining on warmth-critical panels
- Seams: GB (glued and blindstitched) seam construction for reduced flushing and durability, reinforced with E5 tape and critical stress point taping
- Entry: Front chest zip — easy entry, a close fit at the torso and minimal water ingress compared with a back zip
- Extras: Internal key pocket, waterbased lamination on the main material
- Care: Rinse in fresh water after every use, dry in the shade, hang on a wide hanger
Note: thickness breakdown by body zone, exact stretch-panel placement and panel count are not published by the manufacturer for this model — flag for spec sheet if needed.

| 5/4mm | 6–10°C |
| 5/3mm | 8–12°C |
General guideline — actual comfort range depends on lining, seams, and personal cold tolerance.
A wetsuit should fit snug everywhere with no air pockets or gaps at the neck, wrists or knees. Wetsuits, boots, gloves and hoods should be tried on for proper fit — if you're between sizes, the smaller size usually breaks in correctly.

FAQ
Which temperature range is this suit for?
With 5/4mm neoprene plus an attached hood and thermal linings, it's aimed at cold winter water — roughly the 6–12°C range depending on your cold tolerance.
I'm between two sizes — which one?
Go with the size matching your height first, then chest and waist. The suit should feel snug with no bagging at the lower back; it loosens slightly in water and breaks in over the first sessions.
Is the chest zip uncomfortable?
No — a chest zip takes a second longer to get into but seals better and flushes less than a back zip, which is why most cold-water suits use it.
Will it feel stiff at first?
New neoprene always feels tight. The high-stretch construction of the Elasto line softens noticeably after a few sessions in the water.
How do I make it last?
Rinse with fresh water after every session, dry in the shade and store on a wide hanger. Never machine wash, iron or leave it rolled up wet.
