The Story

Most wetsuits are built for the average session. The Regulator exists for the other ones — the midwinter dawn patrol, when the water is at its coldest and thickness is the difference between surfing and watching from the beach. Patagonia built this hooded full suit for women who don't stop when the season does: 6/5mm of protection with the hood already part of the suit, so there's no separate hood to carry, fit or lose.

Details

  • Thickness: 6/5mm — a cold-water configuration, the warm end of the Regulator range.
  • Integrated hood: the hood comes built into the suit, covering the head and sealing at the neck — one less piece of gear and one less flush point.
  • Full coverage: full suit, arms and legs covered, for maximum thermal protection in cold water.
  • Women's cut: built on Patagonia's women's fit, in sizes S, M, L and MT.

Not available in current data — flagged for Chris: rubber/neoprene composition and the brand's lining name, seam construction (flatlock vs. glued-and-blindstitched/taped), entry/zip system, panel count and reinforcement details (knee pads, stitching). These points need the manufacturer spec sheet before being published as fact — the sources consulted did not state them.

Fit & Size Guide

No manufacturer size chart (height/weight/chest by size) for this model was found in the sources available, so the table is not published here yet — send the spec sheet and it goes in as-is. Until then, use the temperature guide below and tell us your height and weight before ordering between two sizes.

Water temperature guide (general reference, not model-specific):

Thickness Typical Water Temp
5/4mm 6–10°C
6/5mm below 6°C

General guideline — actual comfort range depends on lining, seams, and personal cold tolerance.

A wetsuit should fit snug everywhere with no air pockets and no gaps at the neck, wrists and knees — hood included.

Shipping

Ships with tracking. Wetsuits ship folded in protective packaging; check the fit at home indoors, over dry skin, before first use in water — a suit that has been in the sea can no longer be returned as unworn. If the size isn't right, we handle the exchange.

FAQ

  1. I'm between two sizes — which one do I pick?
Wetsuits should fit snug out of the water; they loosen slightly once wet. If you're between sizes, the smaller size usually seals better — send us your height and weight and we'll confirm before you order.
  2. What water temperature is this suit for?
At 6/5mm with an integrated hood, this is a suit for the coldest conditions — the general guideline puts 6/5mm below 6°C. Actual comfort depends on the lining, the seams and your own cold tolerance.
  3. The suit feels stiff on the first surf — is that normal?
Yes. New wetsuit rubber and seams take a few sessions to break in and adapt to your body. Expect the first use to feel tighter than it will after a week of surfing.
  4. How do I make it last?
Rinse with fresh water after every session, dry it inside out in the shade, and keep it away from direct heat and dryers. Heat and sun are what age a wetsuit fastest.
